Giants waive TE Jake Ballard

In a move that surprised no one the Giants cut ties with hard luck injured Ballard. Jake fought his way back last season from a torn PCL to catch 38 passes for 604 yards and 4 scores but tore his ACL & meniscus during the Super Bowl. After sitting out this season Jake will attempt to make a comeback in 2013. I wish the young man well in his rehab.

Surprise, surprise, surprise. What's Bill up to? The TE heavy Pats claimed TE Jake Ballard off waivers from the Giants. He'll start the seaon off on the PUP list and then likely be moved to IR.
 
wow, interesting move by NE. I hope the best for Ballard. Just read today that he needed microfracture surgery to repair the knee.
 
I find it very interesting to see the Pat's scoop up the TE's this summer. If Ballard starts the season on the PUP list and is moved to the IR for the remainder of the season he'd become an exclusive rights free agent again in 2013.
