"Well, you know my standard answer to that, we investigate everything and we'll definitely investigate that," Reese said. "But you know Plax, when he gets home I think the first thing he'll want to do is just spend time with his family, and we'll be in contact at the appropriate time. So we'll just let that unfold. Absolutely, we will not rule that out." Ravens coach John Harbaugh has also indicated possible interest in Burress, who will be released from prison in June.
GM Jerry Reese once again hinted that the Giants could bring back Plaxico Burness when he is released from prison, according to ESPN NY. Reese said, "Well, you know my standard answer to that, we investigate everything and we’ll definitely investigate that. But you know Plax, when he gets home I think the first thing he’ll want to do is just spend time with his family, and we’ll be in contact at the appropriate time. So we’ll just let that unfold. Absolutely, we will not rule that out."
Analysis: If the Giants do reunite with Plax, it may be in a complementary role with Steve Smith and rapidly rising star Hakeem Nicks entrenched as their starting duo. John Harbaugh noted that the Ravens would consider adding him too, and the veteran receiver would have a better opportunity regarding playing time in that situation. Burress will be 33 when his prison sentence ends in June.
Leave no stone unturned I guess. If Buress could manage to be a decent WR2, it would take pressure off Anquan Boldin, and he could be money against LBs in the slot for the Giants.
