Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports if the Eagles do end up trading or releasing QB Michael Vick in the coming weeks, free-agent QB Jeff Garcia could be an option for the team. Garcia would be an ideal guy to mentor QB Kevin Kolb.
I am generally speaking a Jeff Garcia fan and probably would concede that Jeff maybe a better option than Vick at this point. But what does this say about Vicks post prision abilities that after a whole year with the Eagles, camp and some wildcat duty during the season, that he is so lightly regarded. It says trade or release, release may be the most likely option that occurs as no one has been knocking down the doors to trade for Vick and he has been out on the market since March. Why pay for what you may be able to get for free. he could still be traded for some value but it would have to be part of a deal that includes some other player or picks component at the point. If he can be traded for some value it could come during the actual NFL draft.
