  • Jaguars.com's Vic Ketchman reports Jaguars QB David Garrard seems to have an eye for WR Torry Holt. Holt didn't take a lot of reps in scrimmage drills this spring, but when he was in the play, Garrard looked his way. If Holt has something left in the tank, and if he can stay healthy and keep his legs through the second half of the season, he could catch a lot of passes this season because Garrard will look his way. He's exactly what Garrard needs, which is to say a trusted, veteran receiver of esteem. It's all about what Holt has left in his legs.

That is alot of ifs.

Yes it is. Hope it happens though. Would love to see him be a viable fantasy option again. Class act..........

Vito Stellino, of The Florida Times-Union, reports the Jacksonville Jaguars believe WR Torry Holt will make a major impact both on and off the field this season. "I think the one thing that Torry has brought is a level of trust for David (Garrard), so he's aware that at third-and-7, Holts' going to run more than seven yards. I think that'll be a good thing for David,"

Outside of Philly, did anyone do more to turn around their offense than Jax? Character guy in Holt, plus the 3 FA/Rookie lineman. (Tra Thomas, Eugene Monroe, Eben Britton)

If anyone can emerge to catch the ball outside of MJD and Torry, Garrard climbs up my "sneaky QB2" list. Unfortunately the rest of their WR corps is a collection of #4 type guys.

That is alot of ifs in the original post. It will be interesting to see if he has anything left in the tank as the season progresses. Jax still needs another WR to stand up an take some of the pressure off of holt or their passing game won't be any better than it was last year.

Here is my concern. To me Holt will start to transition to the posession type receiver as Isaac Bruce did when Holt came on. The issue is Jacksonville doesn't have that speed guy on the outside to help pull coverage. In fact Jacksonville is really a one trick pony right now...so I don't see how anyone can be high on Garrard or Holt.

He has a current ADP of 7.10, and is likely gonna be your #3 WR. I can get a little high on that.
