Further NFL teams moving?

So Rams are now officially in LA.

But is that the last move?

Per multiple sources, there is a expectation that SD will apply to be added to the LA site. They have just a little time left to do so, and last financial tax hope failed in last election. No real solutions in SD are there for now.

As for Oakland, they have made it very clear they plan to move to Las Vegas, which I am all for, and think it would be a great move. They have solid financial backing, and a promise of a state of the art domed stadium. Need to officially apply to the league, and get the needed votes.

I also think, probably in the next 5 years or so, you will see one international team at least. Either England or Mexico.

I think in the end, you will have Rams and Chargers in LA, Raiders in Las Vegas. I don't see anyone locking Raiders or Chargers in place, after both local areas have pushed back on paying for new stadiums.

interesting, one rumor has SD talking about changing the name and rebranding the team if they move to LA...

Well, per a story I just read on ESPN.com, they have to remain the Chargers for 2017. Due to NFL policy of no uniform changes for 5 years and they last updated in 2012.

I am curious why they would do this, but who knows, they did already request copy right on LA Chargers. Maybe be California Chargers?

Not a fan of this move at all.. San Diego is an awesome city and I always enjoyed going to their games and tailgating. The place always seemed pretty full, it's a damn shame they could never get a deal done.

I've said all along that LA absolutely needed a team and I was ecstatic about the Rams moving back...but 2 teams? Nah

Hail the fans did not support the Rams this year after game 5 of the season. Of course the Rams sucked, but... The owners don't care if the fans show up or not. Every seat is sold as is the right to buy those seats. They are making money hands over fist. The NFL however should frown upon the sight of thousands and thousands of empty seats and the image it projects on TV.

In actuality, had the Raiders gone to LA with either the Rams or the Chargers it would have been successful. Raiders are a draw wherever they go, and it is one reason I can't wait for them to get to Las Vegas. Will be a huge turn out and party every game.

That being said, I think the fact that 2 teams are moving to LA will make it work. First the stadium is privately funded for the most part, so neither team will have huge debt to price out of. Kronke gets the income of rent from Spanos and the Chargers to cover costs. Plus they will sell naming rights, plus get $$$ for every week of the season as opposed to half of the season.

Net, this will work, and probably the only way it really would have worked.

Can't wait for the league to finalize the move of the Raiders.
