Fred Taylor

Like those before him - the move to the New England coast appears to have at least temporarily rejuvenated his career. What is everyone's breakdown of the Patriots carries?

Will he remain the primary for the entire season?
Do you see someone moving ahead of him without an injury playing the deciding factor? If so who and why?

All NE Rbs are a risk. You never know who will get the carries for that week so really there is no predictability in work load for each rb.

I'll take my chances with Maroney. He's young, healthy and has the most talent at this point.

I would have agreed with you when Maroney came into the league but I have been underwhelmed by him and prefer Taylor for this season. As for longterm I could see Maroney showing something to warrant faith being placed in him for what comes next but I'm waiting for him to separate himself before I jump on that wagon again.

Sammy Morris is the only NE back worth owning. No one talks about him early on but by mid-season he will be the one the Pats are depending on.

Why is that Mud?

Could it be because he has somehow managed to be in my line-up both times I wiped the field with you?

Could it be because on these 2 occasions Morris dominated the Pats offense thereby dominating the Bi-Polar Bears offense and stuffing the Hydrocarbons like a Thanksgiving goose?

Certainly it couldn't be because you got beat 2 times by a waiver wire pick-up that you passed over time and time again.

Tell me why you hate Sammy Morris Mr. Mud.

I'm all ears. :nutkick:

Another year of trying to make heads or tails out of the Pats RB situation.

I look for Fred Taylor to get the starting nod. He can still be effective in this system which typically gives the top RB 15-20 carries per game. Slammin Sammy will probably be the spell back and get 7-10.

I like Sammy when he's healthy but he can't seem to go for more than a few games as the first back without getting dinged up.

And then we have Maroney. He used to be a beast returning kicks, but also couldn't remain healthy when given the bulk of the carries. I wouldn't be surprised to see him riding the pine to start the seaason.

"cause he only has a yr or 2 left in him and he basically made Jax what they were. He dedicated and worked so hard there. He should have been able to retire there like he wanted too. He could have been used sparingly and carried the ball maybe 5-7 times a game and he would have been content.

If you want a guy with upside then you'll take a chance on Maroney. Maybe he comes through, maybe he doesn't...thats what late round fliers are for. If you want some old dude with very little upside to ride your bench then by all means grab Taylor or Morris.
