Flynns Road Trip

In Seattle now (from Jason Laconfora):
Free-agent QB Matt Flynn‘s visit in Seattle, which began Thursday, will continue Friday, a league source said, and Flynn will be spending Thursday night there.

Sources had said earlier that Flynn will take a trip to Miami if and when his visit with the Seahawks is over. The Dolphins might have interest in Flynn if they are unable to sign Peyton Manning.

In addition to Flynn, the Seahawks were scheduled to host DT Jason Jones Thursday, a source said.

Flynn, a seventh-round pick by the Packers out of LSU in the 2008 NFL Draft, has been a career backup, but torched the Lions in Green Bay’s 2011 regular-season finale, throwing for 480 yards and six touchdowns

Damn I was hoping the 'Hawks could get him for around $5/6 per year for a few years, but It is looking like Seattle will be going into 2012 with Tarvaris/Portis and another Rookie from the 3rd or 4th round

I was kinda hoping for the same thing AD. I've heard rumblings about the Hawks going after Tannehill, wadda ya think about him?

Good Intel........ $6 million for two years is what I am reading. Dolphins may offer similar money but more years is possible.

Just found this on a 'Hawks bored

A source close to Matt Flynn said the free agent quarterback could agree to a deal with the Seahawks before visiting the Dolphins, according to the Miami Herald.

Sounds like they may be fairly close.

Now that they are apparently out of the hunt for Peyton Manning, the Miami Dolphins have turned their attention to former Packer backup quarterback Matt Flynn and are bringing him in for a visit. An associate of Flynn, however, told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald the Flynn may sign with Seattle before ever leaving for that Miami visit.
. Seattle would have to make a huge offer and the promise of a starting job to keep Flynn from flying to Miami. Seattle has far more cap room than Miami but it is believed that their initial offer was only for two years and $12 million while the Dolphins are willing to write a five-year contract. Seattle is nonetheless "serious" about Flynn after losing out on Peyton Manning, Chad Henne, and even bridge QBs such as Kyle Orton and Jason Campbell.
Flynn, 26, has spent four seasons as Aaron Rodgers’ backup and was very impressive in two starts. He went 24 for 37 for 251 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception in a 2010 game at New England, which the Packers lost 31-27. He was 31 for 44 for 480 yards, with six touchdowns and one interception, in a 45-41 Packers win against Detroit to close last season. Both Seattle and Miami run a version of the West Coast offense so Flynn would likely find either locale an easy adjustment.

RUH-ROH

Appearing on Sports Center Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Dolphins have "emerged as the favorites" to sign free agent QB Matt Flynn.

"I think the Dolphins are the team to beat," added Schefter. The Dolphins are expected to be the highest bidder, though Yahoo's Jason Cole reports the team is currently "low-balling" Flynn, believing he'll given in just to reunite with coach Joe Philbin. It's hardly a shocking report considering the shenanigans of the Dolphins front office the past couple of years.

Smith's free-agent visit to the Miami Dolphins might look like an attempt by that organization to further suppress the price for another free-agent quarterback, Matt Flynn.

But let's face it, Flynn was already languishing on the discount rack. Green Bay thought better of naming him its franchise player. Seattle, though interested, did not make Flynn an offer during his recent visit to the team's headquarters. And if the Seahawks do make an offer, they likely will not value him appreciably more than they valued Tarvaris Jackson, who signed for $4 million a year.

Where did that come from ?? Lot of misinfo flyin around
