Packers Injury Update - Finley Sits --
Wed Jun 9, 2010 --from FFMastermind.com
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Packers TE Jermichael Finley did not practice because he has tendonitis in his knee. DL Ryan Pickett strained his pectoral muscle. Last week, Pickett was hopeful that his injured left shoulder, what he calls it, would keep him out a day or two. It’s been a week. “It comes down to the docs not wanting to re-hurt it in offseason drills. So they’re just taking it easy on me,” said Pickett. The pain is not bad. “I have a lot of strength, it’s really just a precautionary reason.” McCarthy also revealed that LB Nick Barnett and WR Donald Driver had their knee (Barnett) or kness (Driver) “cleaned up” or scoped. The surgical procedures happened in the post-season; McCarthy wasn’t specific. Barnett has not been practicing. “Just going through the rehab. Just being smart with him,” said McCarthy. “Dr. (Pat) McKenzie is particularly cautious at this time of year with all of our players. It's going to be challenging, once we get to training camp, making sure we have enough guys to go, because we do have a number of injured players coming off of last season going through the offseason program." Driver also worked with the rehab group.
