Favre needs surgery on ankle

 :headscratch:

Who knows. Guess we just have to sit and listen to every sports show talk about Farve again. :xpopcorn:

(KFFL) Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre has reportedly declined to have left ankle surgery as recommended by an orthopedist, according to Charley Walters, of the Pioneer Press. What the decision means for Favre's future with the Vikings is unclear.

rotoworld,

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press' Charley Walters, there is a "hot rumor" that Brett Favre will opt against undergoing surgery on his troublesome left ankle.

We caution that the source here -- Walters -- is typically one of the most unreliable around. "What that means for his future with the Vikings is unclear," Walters adds. It was previously reported by ESPN that Favre would not be able to play in 2010 barring an operation on the ankle. Most likely, Favre's decision still has not been made. The window of opportunity for him to have the surgery and report to training camp, though, is beginning to close.

oh god, damnit Favre retire already. Don't need another 3 months of " What is he gonna do" and " is he gonna play".

rotoworld,

According to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora, no decision has been made as to whether Brett Favre will or won't undergo surgery on his left ankle.

La Canfora, who's spoken to people in the organization, says he'd be "very surprised" if Favre isn't the Vikings' starter by Week 1. The report disputes Wednesday morning's "hot rumor" in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The Pio Press claimed that Favre has already opted against surgery. Nothing in this situation is certain, from Favre's need for the surgery to play to his playing status. We still fully expect him to report by September.

(Rotoworld) Vikings coach Brad Childress reiterated Wednesday that he's staying in touch with Brett Favre via text message, but Favre still hasn't informed Childress whether he plans to play in 2010. Analysis: Favre also hasn't informed Childress if he'll undergo surgery on his ankle. Favre probably won't decide his playing status until July or early August.
