Mendy gets the start. I think this is the perfect storm that Mendy owners have been waiting for. Willie out, Mendy focused all week, and going up against a horrible rush defense.

The Steelers today determined that Willie Parker will not be able to play Sunday because of turf toe and that let them with only three healthy backs -- Rashard Mendenhall, Mewelde Moore and Carey Davis, who was re-signed Tuesday to play fullback. Mendenhall will start at halfback against the Chargers.

this was Mendy's coming out party! Glad I held on for one more week. I about started him, but went with Harrison instead, who had a nice game in his own right.

Mendy had a great game. 165 yrds on 29 carries and most importantly, he didn't fumble.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told the media Tuesday that he expects RB Willie Parker to be limited in practice at the onset of the week and wouldn't commit to him or Rashard Mendenhall starting at Detroit in Week 5.
