rotoworld,
The NFL is reviewing allegations that Brett Favre sent "racy messages and photos" to a sideline reporter while he played for the Jets.

"We are reviewing the matter," said league spokesman Greg Aiello. The NFL can't have taken the alleged incident that seriously if this is the first time they've explored it. The messages and photos were believed to be sent to former Jets employee Jenn Sterger. Favre left numerous awkward voicemails on Sterger's phone, and allegedly sent her pictures of his private parts.

This story was floating around about a month ago, maybe even before the season began. Funny how something like this didn't have legs from the start.

No matter how classy you think a guy is...the fact is we are all human and prone to misjudgments. Nobody is perfect *cough Tiger Woods*

True enough that the story has been out for quite some time but new to the story is the fact that the NFL is now investigating it. Still I'm with you RC in that if there was anything to this you'd think they'd have already checked into the Golden Boy from Mississippi.

Shefter is reporting that the NFL started investigating it yesterday but didn't acknowledge it until today. Interesting.

rotoworld,
The Jets are reportedly cooperating with the NFL's investigation of former QB Brett Favre.

The team gave the league the contact information of two massage therapists that Favre allegedly had contact with. There's an outside chance that Favre will face discipline under the league's Personal Conduct Policy, as both therapists worked part time for the Jets. We suspect there will be more to come on the situation over the next few weeks, but for now Favre's off the field actions won't influence his fantasy prospects.

I blame the whole incident, or incidents, on Ted Thompson. :homer:
I thought the above was witty???? You all know I am as big a Favre guy as there is here. He really messed up. I'm not comparing this to the Tiger thing at all, but I am not going to distance too far from it or the Big Ben deal. Favre and Tiger were/are married. That makes them very sad, especially for the wives. I messed up and fell too, and have the scars of a divorce to prove it. We all mess up at different levels and really should not ever judge morality. I hope he and his wife make it through this, just as I hoped Tiger and his would. I have this hunch that Brett and a Dr. will manufacture an injury to said elbow, and he will drop completley below the radar for a long while. I just hope his marriage makes it.

I'm with you on the marriage thing RC and I'm pulling for him and his wife to make it through this stupid behavior on his part.

rotoworld,
Interviewed by NBC's Alex Flanagan during Saturday's Notre Dame-Western Michigan game, commissioner Roger Goodell revealed that Brett Favre will meet with a member of the league office next week.

Goodell indicated that the NFL is still gathering facts about Favre's relationship with former Jets sideline reportere Jenn Sterger, to whom Favre made numerous sexual advances in 2008. Goodell did not hint at any league discipline, but it's only fair that Favre gets to tell his side of the story. After the interview, Goodell will have to determine whether what Favre did violated the Personal Conduct Policy. We'd be surprised if he's suspended.
