Falcons TE Gonzo Learning To Adapt

Chris Mortensen, of ESPN.com, reports Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez said he feels like a rookie because he has to learn new things and is still not quite comfortable with the changes. "I'll admit I'm still somewhat uncomfortable," said Gonzalez. "I'm learning a new offense, I'm making new friends, learning a new freeway system. All the things going into switching teams, I'm going through it right now and it's kind of tough, like being a rookie all over again."

Anybody who has been on the beltway around Atlanta can sympathize with that.

They also reported that he was having trouble learning the Chiefs new offense.

I get the feeling that the guy ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but what's that got to do with football? :xpaper:

Speaking of not the sharpest knife in the drawer, Gonzalez doesn't play for KC which is probably why he's having trouble learning their offense.. LOL

That would be funny if it wasn't so stupid.

Let me get my crayons out.

News: The Kansas City Star reports Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez is having trouble learning offensive coordinator Chan Gailey's new offense. "I guess I'm kind of struggling," Gonzalez said. "They're bringing me along. So when they say, 'Break,' I'll go up to Brodie (Croyle) and be like, 'OK, what do I got here?' He'll tell me. Then you go play football from there."

That would be informative and relevant if it weren't so outdated.

Let me get my time machine out.

P.S.- Your link's broken.

I think what BP Bears is trying to say is that TGonz supposedly had trouble learning a new offensive scheme at one point under Chan Gailey in KC. Could translate into what he's going through now in Atlanta.

Fairly relevant and not to hard to grasp IMO.

Wouldn't be irrelevant had Gonzalez not cemented his legacy as the greatest offensive TE of all-time, during the seasons after he was so thick that he couldn't understand the scheme that he was dominating.

He'll be just fine in Atlanta. At worst he'll wind up the #4 fantasy TE by season's end.

Witten, Gates, Dallas Clark, Gonzo?

I like Olsen alot but not sure if he'll crack the quartet.
