Falcons RB Norwood To get Wildcat Action?

AtlantaFalcons.com, reports the Atlanta Falcons could use the Wildcat formation this season with RB Jerious Norwood taking the direct snap. Offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey said Norwood is able to throw the ball out of that formation. The under utilized Norwood brings a different element to the offense and could be a valuable weapon in a Wildcat style offense like the Dolphins use. Fantasy owners should look at Norwood as a nice sleeper option as a No. 4 running back that could post some solid numbers with an increased role in the Falcon offense this year.

Norwood shows us flashes of big play capability every year but has been underutilized at least as far as fantasy owners are concerned. Every year it is said he will get used more and it doesn't seem to happen. He is usually drafted to be our Bye week guy or a flex option in leagues that have flex players. He can give you a nice game here and there but probably not on the week that you use have to use him. This make him a mild disapointment for those of us that draft him, just because he is capable of more. Is this the year that he does become that great option? A weekly flex player except maybe in bad matchups?

I agree. Why would they mess with a good thing that they have going ?

Hang on a minute... the general consensus here over and over again is that Atlanta cannot be trusted to run or catch the ball using their current playbook. Now that they are expanding into a new formation the thought is that they "have a good thing going". So inconsistent.

Atlanta believes they have a good O-team and are exploring the best options for them. Wildcat bueno? Who knows yet. But they'll never know if they don't try it.

They basically have the same team they had last year, along with a few FA pickups and a few draft picks. With that , they should be able to be a better team than last year w/o the wild cat. I personally don't think they have the personel needed to use the wildcat officiantly. Minnesota on the other hand has the possibilty to be able to run the wildcat vetter than Miami with the personnel they have and have acquired.
