FA WR Roy Williams goes to the Bears

Roy Williams has agreed to a contract with Chicago, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Williams will be reunited with offensive coordinator Mike Martz and wide receivers coach Darryl Drake. Williams had his most productive year as a pro playing under Martz in 2006 and is also extremely close with Drake, who coached him at Texas.

Not sure about this one. He wont ever have his 2007 numbers back but hes alot large receiver then they have. he finds a way to get down the field despite not having much for speed left. I think it at least gives him some fantasy value seeing as he will likely be the Bears number one receiver.

Roy Williams sucks. I'm glad he went to the Bears. They play the Lions twice. That's one receiver they won't have to pay attention to now.

Personally, I think this makes Roy a sleeper. He's better than any WR currently on the Bears roster.

Not a real exciting grab. Osiris may be right with a sleeper depending on how his APD shakes out. n0rm has a point that he may be the best there now. He may be good enough to open up Knox more for ER. But still it is adding another #2 WR to a whole crew of #2 WRs, so yawn.

I expect Roy to catch about 50 passes and 6 scores just because of the crazy offense, but I also expect him to drop 5 more TDs and 25 more passes. Dork.

(Rotoworld) Offensive coordinator Mike Martz is predicting 70 or 80 receptions for Roy Williams. Analysis: "He's an elite player," said Martz. We're not sure what Martz is going to do with four legit No. 1 receivers, which is what he claims to have in Chicago. His incessant hype makes Jon Gruden sound like Debbie Downer. The takeaway here is that Williams is slotted for a major offensive role, which will likely cut into the production of Johnny Knox, Earl Bennett, and Devin Hester. We still have Knox ranked the highest of the four.

Cutler will have to throw Roy the ball about 200-300 times for him to haul in 70-80 receptions!
