Eugene Monroe has the prototypical size and frame to be a franchise left tackle. This is a big, quick, athletic guy who moves very well for his size. His technique is very polished for his age. Monroe has great lateral movement to be able to shut down the speed rush. He has the skills to excel at the next level. He needs to improve some as a run blocker and does not possess elite strength. Needs to get stronger at the next level. Durability is a concern. Overall, he is a very good pro tackle prospect and should be able to step in and help a team right away.

So where do you think Monroe will land? How successful will he be in the NFL?

I'm seeing some reports that he may not be well suited for a Zone-Blocking system. If true he may not be a good fit for Seattle

This is why I place a premium on high-character, coachable guys over others who may have an edge on pure talent. Someone who works hard and lives football like Monroe should have an easy transition to a different scheme than what he ran in college after he's exposed to some NFL-level coaching. Especially with a HOF-caliber guy like Walter Jones already in place.

Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia: Questions about the health of his knees and the fire in his belly could lead to a small slip down the board, though some consider him to be the most pro-ready of this year's tackle class. The Jaguars would strongly consider taking advantage of Monroe's slip, despite having signed Tra Thomas in free agency.

Don't know about the fire part, but the durability concern is probably his biggest concern. He had surgery in the Spring of 2006 to repair a dislocated kneecap and also missed two games in 2007 with a sprained knee.

Durability concerns or not, no way Cincy passes on him if he slides to 6.
