This makes him the 4th highest paid TE in the NFL.
I'm not sure I get this.
3 years in the NFL and so far has been mediocre at best. He loses snaps to Celek because he can't block and to me has shown nothing even close to top 5 TE talent. He came on strong at the end of last year but guess what?
The head coach is gone now and the QB situation is up in the air.
Who knows what kind of game plan Pederson has in store but he reads to be run first and not known for his TE usage, though that seems unusual for an ex QB. Might be because Jamaal was the only real weapon he had.
All I can get out of the reports is that he was extended because he works hard and is a good guy.
Pederson is also a fan of hard work so maybe that explains a little, but still...
That's an awful lot of money for a guy that averages 50% of the snaps and 3 TDs a year.
