I have the first pick in a keeper league and was wondering who I should take. My keepers are Romo,Charles,Rice,Austin,Witten. Brees,Bradshaw,Marshall,Lloyd and Dallas Clark are on the board. It is a Qb,rb,rb,wr,wr,te,flex wr,rb,te league. Thanks for the input.

1) Dallas Clark (you can use him as flex or trade bait to get someone better in another position)
2) Marshall
3) Brees (trade bait as well to get a #1 in another poistion)
4) Bradshaw (if PPR)
5) LLoyd

I agree with this. The only question I have is it seems this league might be RB crazy if Bradshaw is all thats available and the Brees or Clark trade move might not register. If that be the case you might need to bite the bullet and grab the best back. You could do has Battle-Tested suggested then target a guy like Hightower of FJax later.

Sometimes I find it hard to move (Stud) Qb's or (Stud) Te's for the value I perceive in them. Opposing owners know they are wasted space on your squad unless there is a catastophic injury, and they have you over the barrell. You end up getting late 2's and early 3's for bonafied 1's quite often.

Not to knock the trade angle, but remember what league you are in, Mark.

There are only a few teams that even LOOK at their trade requests let alone reply to them.

Your obvious needs are at WR but I think I'd puke if I spent my #1 on Marshall.

Clark is not a bad idea due to the flex option. 2 stud TEs and you can play them both. I actually did that in SOFFL II....drafted Clark and Witten with the plan to use one as a flex but was later reminded that we don't HAVE a flex so I had to trade Witten away.

Yeah, all prejudice aside, I think I'd grab Clark and take my chances on WR later in the draft.

Yes you are right about half the league will not respond but a couple of the teams that need a qb are teams that will actually reply. This is hard for me Brees is by far the number 1 pick and I would not even expect the same value back for him if I traded him. I am scared of Clark because if Manning does not play all the colts players numbers will go down.

You could take Brees and give Romo away via trade. He won't score you a bigtime talent but you don't need them both and Brees is an upgrade.

can you still change your keepers? . . . having the 1st pick, you could keep someone other than romo and take brees with your 1st . . . ;)

Did you ever decide, Mark?

Since you had bye-week questions I assumed you were considering Marshall.

It would sure help me out if I knew your pick ahead of time

I could use a #1 QB or TE but even if you go WR Brees and Clark will never make it to me @ 5th.

Deer Slayers is a homer and sure to take Brees and La. Raiders will take Clark and then trade him to Ralph for Tavaris Jackson
