Dont piss off Lake Travis......

The local media was running some stories about Lake Travis HS (holders of like a 43 game win streak) that this years team was more "vunerable". This school has produced Todd Reesing and next years Texas starter Garrett Gilbert, a national player of the year.

The response? In the 2nd quarter at Kyle Field Lake Travis (14-0) leads Pearland Dawson (12-2) in a Class 4A Division 2 State Semi Final game 43-0.

Dont piss off the Champs.

Nothing like offering up a little bulletin board material, especially at the High School level.

Call me impressed. They are a fine football team, and I can tell you from seeing the next 5-10 years of their guys on the field they are not going to drop off.

Their pop warner teams are all running a bare bones version of their spread. Those kids are big, fast, and they know their stuff.

HS football is awesome, in any form. Some of the best moments of my youth were on a football field. Things that would make you laugh, bring you to tears, the whole works.

Like the last game my mother saw me play before she passed away. Her and my dad cheering like crazy at the end of a tunnell all the parents made for us to run out of.

Parents who did even have kids playing showing up the next season to watch me just so Dad and I knew we werent alone.

Greatest part of the greatest sport on earth. Long live football.
