(cbssports.com)Colts RB Donald Brown was among 13 players who did not practice during the team's early June minicamp. The team did not comment on any of their injured players. Brown had been participating in offseason workouts and OTAs after dealing with a serious shoulder injury last season.

Coach Jim Caldwell says 2009 first-round pick Donald Brown is "getting better" and improving his knowledge of the Colts' offense.

"He's coming along, and is in the same mold as Joseph (Addai) ... in terms of having an understanding of the offense," Caldwell said. "He's also a guy who's multi-faceted as well." Caldwell referred to Brown as "more of a power back" than Addai, which is surprising because of Addai's effectiveness in short-yardage situations. Look for Brown's role to expand in 2010.
