can't wait for my niners to sign him and we have the best LB core in the entire league

That would be interesting. Willis, Spikes, Porter, Lawson, Brooks, Harrelson. They could bring some heat in the 3-4.

Singletary could control him.......................

Porter may not be a force of one at LB any more but he could be a very a very solid piece in a Lb puzzle that is almost complete. Great speculation, guys.

or not.

The Dolphins announced the release of the disgruntled linebacker. Less than three hours later, they said the move was “determined to be an invalid termination. Therefore at this time, Porter reverts back to the Miami Dolphins roster.”

A do over?

or A take back?

So does this motivate him, or shut him down? I would expect the latter but he's been about as unpredictable as they come, dating back to his Steeler days.
DD, what say you?

It's temporary, the Fins will release him on the 5th when the salary cap expires. As for what he'll do on another team, it will depend highly on the situation. If he goes to a team where he can be a three down player on the weak side, is playing in an LB corp with enough talent that he's not the only guy the offensive line has to account for, and if the scheme is consistently blitz friendly he'll be a happy and productive player for the next year or so. I'd say the 49ers are a good fit, so long as they don't lose Franklin at NT.

No. The only person who can control Porter is Porter, and he's only a team player if he's happy. JT has largely the same feelings that Porter has about the team not using him as a three down player, but he's a team first guy so he hasn't and won't run him mouth.

Linebacker in the first round, then?

That largely depends on if Dez Bryant is available. Fans have been very vocal in their criticism of the lack of a #1 WR and the FO has been equally vocal in their assertion that they seriously want such a player. If Bryant is available, then I'd say no. If Bryant isn't available, I say Brandon Graham is tapped to play the strong side.

OK, control was the wrong word. Singletary can get Porter to play for him and put the BS behind him. Guy is a great motivator who treats players like men and doesn't play games. He saved Vernon Davis's career by making him realize that he could either achieve greatness or be another punk who had great potential and never did anything with it. Porter has some good football left in him and I think he needs a guy like Singletary to restore the passion for the game.........

Would be fun to see Porter focused in that defense..........
