Dolphins CB Benny Sapp takes the Rap and is dropped

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Dolphins released CB Benny Sapp. Sapp is the scapegoat for Tom Brady's 517-yard performance after taking a stiff-arm from Wes Welker on the late-game 99-yard touchdown play. To be fair, Sapp also made a savvy play jumping the route that led to Brady's lone interception. The Dolphins will apparently look for an upgrade. Might be had to find one, The Bengals and the Rams are looking hard right now for CBs

I think if he had gotten up off his rear and chased the play instead of just laying there and watching he might still have a job.

That seems unfair. Only one game in the season and these guys didnt have a full time to get ready for the season. Its going to take a few weeks of playing together to knock the rust off. At least he knew the system but now they decided they want to bring in a guy that doesnt know the system and expect him to play better?

Cant blame the horrible defensive effort on one guy. It was the whole defence. They gave up almost 700 yds in the game. Sounds like a drastic move by management or somebody trying to keep their job.

Dolphins re-signed CB Will Allen to a one-year contract. Allen was released at final cuts, but the Dolphins' lack of depth at corner was exposed Monday when both Sean Smith and Vontae Davis left with cramps. Miami doesn't have to guarantee Allen's contract anymore and they released an ineffective Benny Sapp on Tuesday. Lucky to get him re-signed with all the teams hunting for CBs right now.
