Do you hate those Thursday night games? There's more to hate in 2012!

There were 8 nfl games played on Thursday night last year but the nfl is expanding that number to 13 for 2012. Many cable companies do not carry the nfl network so you know what you have to do if you want to see those games.

NFL Network will carry Thursday night games from Week 2 to Week 15. Every team will be guaranteed at least one prime time game during the regular season.

I love the thursday night games from a fan standpoint... an extra excuse to hang out/go out... another day of football... another game we can actually watch from teams we wouldn't ordinarily see. from a player or fantasy standpoint... ugh

I don't mind a few but to many will not be something i am in favor of. Could be worse, they could be adding a separate day. Definitely not a fan of them being on NFL network. Just more games i will miss.

I thought the NFL network was just as much a part of any cable providers basic lineup as ESPN.

I have always found it impossible to watch 6,7, or 8 games at one time.

They suck! I liked when the NFL kicked off at noon Sunday!!! The board I frequented back in those days was just giddy with excitnment at 11.55. There was always something spectacular that happened on the opening kickoff!

Not so at all Alpha. It is a part of many cable companies advanced plans however off hand I know of several that even then do not offer the network. I know of no cable company that offers the nfl network as part of their lower end packages. It is standard for directv though.

I like watching them, but from a fantasy standpoint they suck. Going to need to review WW rules I think in some of my leagues if this is going to be an every week thing. Sucks to shut waivers down on Thursday nt. May just need to lock players in those games and keep the rest open.

Time Warner still does not offer it at all, one of the reasons I switched many years ago to DTV. Most of the dish companies have it, it is the cable companies that are hit or miss and if they do, offer it in an upper tier package as Mud stated.

I could live with that Gizzil though I've been with directv for better than 10 years so I'm good when I'm home. It's the motels and even the bars that don't get the network that gets me.

I'm kinda tha same Mud. Away from home whenever I'm workin and NFLN is hard to find, but the lucky thing is the Thurs games are not shown on NFLN in Canada. They are shown on TSN and every place has that

I guess it's just a matter of time until the NFL will broadcast it's games entirely on it's own network(s).

And then get bought by Disney.
--------

But seriously, the NFL must make it's network available to the general public to avoid losing it's 'Anti-Trust' exemption status.

This is why the NFL network is available to the general cable/satellite subscriber (not all systems carry the NFL network free of charge, but the two giants - Comcast and Directv do).

What does this all mean for the fan?

Commercials.
But we're all so indoctrinated into the culture of commercials, we're actually looking forward to them this Sunday.

This is why I submitted a commercial this year entirely focused on boobs.
From Mitt to Newt, and Obama to Oprah, Cruise to Kutcher.

It's no longer Super Bowl Sunday.
It's Super Boob Sunday.
And it's only going to get bigger
