Different Set Of Rules For Tom Brady?

Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis complained earlier this year about what he perceived to be a different set of rules for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Lewis' comments came after Baltimore was called for two roughing-the-passer penalties against Brady during a narrow Week 4 loss at New England.

Now Joey Porter is joining Lewis in protest.

"When a guy can tell a ref when to throw a flag and he gets it and stuff like that, I mean he got his own rules," said Porter, whose Dolphins face the Patriots in a crucial AFC East showdown Sunday. "They made the whole 'don't go at the legs (rule)' because of Tom. So whenever he feels that somebody is coming at his legs, he just points at the ref and he gets the flag. So you got to honestly say that he has his own set of rules."

Brady: ‘I don’t think I’ve ever influenced a call’

On Friday, Brady responded to Porter’s comments, telling The Boston Globe that he doesn’t think he’s ever persuaded an official to throw a flag.

“You may get more calls. I don’t know. I think the ref calls what he sees. I don’t think I’ve ever influenced a call. The refs we have are very good. If they make a call on that, great. If they don’t, that’s fine.”

Why the heck would he motion for a flag if he didn't feel like he had some sort of influence. Why would any player motion for a flag if they didn't feel like they had a bit of influence. We've seen it too many times.

My ass. I agree with Lewis and Porter.

I think Lewis & Porter may have a case, Tom (Marcia) Brady has had two rules changed or implemented as the result of play's on his behalf. He wouldnt stand a chance when the likes of Terry Bradshaw, Kenny Stabler, etc.... played the game.
