He tweeted that he will not be on the field when games start if he doesn't receive a new contract by the Wednesday deadline.

I have no doubt he will hold out for the big contract, and then come in if he does not get it at the last possible date to make sure his current deal expires.

And the team can't give him a new contract at any point in there?
I'm having on the franchise rules. There's a deadline for a long term contract to be signed....and after the deadline has past, no more negotiations can occur?

As I understand it IF a new deal isn't signed by the deadline tomorrow the only way he can play this season is under the one year $12.8M tender that he is refusing thus far to play under.

I keep hearing this stuff about him sitting out "a few" games. A lot of Emmitt Smith comparisons are being drawn, and Emmitt only sat 2 games before the team caved.

I think that comparison is making me think that the team could cave in after a few weeks of the reg season and extend him, but it doesn't sound like that's the case.

Per
Schefter on ESPN - signed for 5 years $70 Million, with $45 guaranteed I think

D.Thomas of Denver also signs as does Gostkowski K of N.E.
