(Rotoworld) Devin Hester plans to work with recently retired Isaac Bruce in July to master the "Z" receiver spot in Mike Martz's offense. Analysis: Hester said he's starting to get a handle on Martz's challenging playbook as OTAs end. We like Johnny Knox as the receiver to own in Chicago, but Hester isn't far behind. Though he should maintain WR3 value this season, Hester will have to avoid the nagging injuries that slowed him in the second half of 2009.

Chicago Bears WR Devin Hester has worked with former NFL WR Isaac Bruce this offseason to try to learn offensive coordinator Mike Martz's scheme better, reports Neil Hayes, of the Chicago Sun-Times. Bruce has been working with Hester on running better routes and other finer points of the position.

OUR VIEW

Bruce should be able to help Hester with the intricacies of the Mike Martz system. Hester is explosive, but has not yet fully developed as a wide receiver. He and Johnny Knox have the perfect skill set for a Mike Martz offense and could be the next Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt.

Hester will lead me to the promised land in a couple of ppr leagues this year. Been on the bandwagon for awhile now.
I don't buy it. Never have, never will.

Martz' system is based on Wr being in a set place by a set time. Hester has no ability to run paterns as they are to be run. He has great speed, but thats about it. I honestly think that the only Wr that will gain in this system will be Knox.

My confidence grew with every word you typed. :)

As a Bears fan I'm one of the very few fans optimistic about the WR corps. I just think the speed this team has will be an advantage in this offensive system. Hopefully Cutler will throw the ball to the right team this year.

I like Knox alot in this system. He and Hesterhave the most to gain from it.
