rotoworld,
DeSean Jackson is not in attendance for Eagles OTAs on Monday.

The Eagles didn't say why D-Jax isn't participating, except that the workouts are "voluntary." Jackson has made it clear that he wants his rookie contract shredded up and we suspect this absence is related to that. Jackson is set to earn a base salary of just $470,000 this season.

Profootballtalk.com reports that DeSean Jackson's absence from Eagles OTAs on Monday is not contract related. Reportedly according to PFT D-Jax is reportedly "handling some personal business," and is expected to practice later in the week.
However this contradicts what, the Philadelphia Daily News' Les Bowen has tweeted that Jackson is currently in Atlanta, and will return to his native Los Angeles "for the rest of the week."

Uh, Oh.

Another source speculates: Jacksons agent, Drew Rosenhaus, should get this problem fixed before Training Camp, which will give new QB Kevin Kolb plenty of time to get acquainted with his #1 target.

rotoworld,
DeSean Jackson has assured coach Andy Reid that he will report for training camp in late July.

Jackson is missing this week's practices while attending to "personal business," but he did participate in OTAs earlier this spring. Reid has yet to show concern over Jackson's absence.

cbssports.com,
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Eagles WR DeSean Jackson is unlikely to get his contract restructured prior to the start of the season. Jackson expressed dissatisfaction with the contract he signed as a rookie and is due to make a little more than $800,000 this year. But even though Jackson has expressed unhappiness with his four-year, $3 million deal, he has not said anything about a holdout even though he missed the last week of workouts last month without explanation. Eagles coach Andy Reid said that Jackson is expected to report to camp on July 29 with the rest of the team's veterans.

Analysis: It's a good thing that Jackson, even though he might be underpaid based on his performance in 2009, is going to show up to training camp on time. Last season, Jackson caught 62 passes for 1,156 yards and nine touchdowns. He is entering his third year in the NFL, which means he could become an even more polished receiver, and the switch at QB from Donovan McNabb to Kevin Kolb shouldn't hurt Jackson much at all. We like Jackson as a solid No. 1 Fantasy WR, and he's worth drafting toward the end of Round 2 or beginning of Round 3 in all leagues.

I think its fine to pay him more, so long as he returns the money if he doe snot perform up to the new salary level...
