Derek Anderson think losing is funny

Anderson was unreasonably awful, making it his fourth straight game filled with accuracy struggles. His post-game press conference will be at the forefront of morning highlight shows. Anderson was seen chuckling with offensive lineman Deuce Lutui on the sideline with the team down three touchdowns. A reporter asked Anderson what was funny and Anderson exploded into a profanity laced tirade which ended with him storming off the stage. It's shocking that coach Ken Whisenhunt didn't bench Anderson mid-game. If Anderson remains the starter for Week 13, Whisenhunt should be fired.

This is crap. Maybe JaMarcus the Fat Carcass can take a stab at this.

I hear Charlie Ward might be interested in returning to football. He'd be better than DA any day.

While he didn't act well at the press conference, I happen to know firsthand that O linemen are hysterically funny.

This whole thing was so overblown. They flash to him on the sideline and he happens to be smiling. Big deal. Not like he was yucking it up. That reporter deserved an Andre Johnson type beat down. If that's all you have to offer as questions, get into another field.

I listened to Wishenhunt tonight and he said that while Anderson handled the situation poorly, he knows that he takes losing hard. There is a difference between sucking as a player and not caring. Wisenhunt wouldn't give him another start if he thought he didn't care........

I think Whisenhunt would give him another start, because honestly what the hell does he have to go with?

He cant win with Anderson

He cant win with Hall

He cant win with whoever the hell the #3 QB is.

I hate the media, but the reporter was totally within his rights to ask about a NFL starting QB enjoying himself while his team is being humiliated on national television.

They played the whole incident on Colin Coward this morning and Anderson answered the question calmly the first time the guy asked. Explained that the OL guy said something funny and he smiled in self depreciation (paraphrasing). Then after a couple other questions, the guy kept pushing the issue. To me, this is not reporting, it's trying to stir up an issue.

The reporter is really no more than a blogger IMO and when MNF showed the shot of Anderson, viewers with no life started "tweeting" about how out of line that was, so this guy played to his audience. When the MNF crew was making a big deal out of it, I thought that was out of line. It was a quick sideline shot. Maybe the guy said something funny. Frankly, I don't think it's a big deal.

Yeah, Wisenhunt doesn't have a lot of options, but IMO, if he thought Anderson didn't give a crap, he would lose with a guy who did. Guy is a quality coach and wouldn't put up with that type of behavior...........

Heard the same thing as E. This reporter is a jackarse. He asked the same question six times and every DECENT ESPN person i have heard said that the guy needed to stop after twice and change the question. All everyone sees is the blow up like he did it after one question. So by everyones reaction if your losing you are not allowed a shred of happiness on the sidelines...well lets just damn the guy to hell for smiling.

Im not saying the guy needs to hang himself, but the ****er shouldnt be chuckling on the sidelines with his team getting its taint handed to it.

Well, if the game wasn't on MNF and they hadn't picked that exact time to have the camera on him, none of this would be an issue.

You see it all the time in the NFL. Camera scans the sidelines of a team getting whipped and there are guys smiling. As Anderson explained the first time the question was asked, it was a self depreciating smile. I would guess a form of stress relief. I don't see it as a sign he didn't care. Just bad timing.........

Anyway, that blogger is a jackass.....................

In all fairness to Derek Anderson.....

If I knew I was playing like I was, and I knew that an NFL team was paying me what he is being paid.....I would have to laugh also :biglaugh:

And if Anderson simply said Deuce was trying to cheer him up, it wouldn't be an issue.

This is the worst bit of non-news of the weekend. Moping on the sidelines would do him no good, because everyone got on Jay Cutler's case for that. Can't be unemotional or people would say he has no fire or passion. So he smiles or chuckles for 10 seconds out of a three hour span - what ever.
