Denver RB Knowshon Moreno:Temper Your Expectations?

Beat writer Frank Schwab believes "anyone drafting Knowshon Moreno in fantasy football" will be risking weeks where he sees just 12-15 carries with very little goal-line work. Moreno is an obvious three-down back, but Schwab doesn't expect him to be a "Terrell Davis-type workhorse" as a rookie with Correll Buckhalter and LaMont Jordan around to spell him. He may also lose short-yardage carries to Jordan and fullback Peyton Hills.

Interesting to see a beat writer looking at the fantasy angle but he may have a point. With all the RBs hanging a round in Denver Moreno maybe a little underutilized this year despite his potential to be the workhorse. Maybe we should expect McFaddy type utilization this year from a fantasy perspective?

Not to mention with Denvers D they will be down in most games and the RB will only be a factor in the passing game but thats where i see Moreno doing most of his work this season.
Id prefer to stay away from Moreno, unless I were in a dynasty League. I would stay away from them all together if at all possible. Buckhalter i like the most.

CBuck is really below the radar nowadays. He has had an unfortunate injury history. But when he was healthy he was always very effective in Philly.

Going into the NFL Draft I wasnt high on Moreno. I do think though he could have a good season this year b/c of which team drafted him. If BM stays in Denver and doesnt get traded the offense should still put up good numbers through the air. I think that would leave Moreno to pull in some receptions as well as have some nice holes to run through in Denver.

If BM gets traded though I wouldnt draft Moreno. I do think Moreno can be nice value depending on which round he gets drafted in.

The holes will be there with or without Marshall, its the amount of opportunities Moreno is actually gonna get in that backfield that is most concerning.

Shanahan is gone, but there will always be a Denver RB stigma until someone like Moreno (and his coaching staff) can prove he is a true #1 in terms of carries and goal line work.

I'll be honest and say I have no idea how this is going to work out. Moreno is an intriguing option and the reports from camp have been encouraging. Of all the rookie RBs he is the most likely 'Chris Johnson' type repeat, but I understand the concern that the committee system will hurt his numbers.

There is a lot of pressure on Denver management to show that they didn't waste the pick on Moreno. Orton dumped the ball off to Forte last year 65 times, so that won't be strange to him. I like Moreno this year as a good PPR and yardage RB who should accumulate decent points. I can't really see him getting the goalline carries. This could be one of those Tiki Barber years when he had a ton of yardage and like no Td's because of B.Jacobs.
