rotoworld,
Nothing is imminent right now, but Tom Brady has been "lobbying" for Branch, according to Pats beat writer Shalise Manza Young. A move would make sense for both sides. The Seahawks have young receiver talent that needs to get on the field and Branch had his best seasons in New England. Still, knee injuries have crippled Branch's on-field production and he's just be a supporting player this time around in New England.

Why? You could probably go out and get Evans from Buffalo, or V.Jax from S.D. and get a much better player. Granted the price would be higher, but still. Sheesh.

Patriots shot themselves in the foot giving Moss away. Event hough the numbers were not there he demanded respect of the opposing teams best corner and over the top safety help. This is going to drop Welkers numbers big time especially if Tate gets hurt again.

rotoworld,
Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times confirms that "discussions have taken place" between the Seahawks and the Patriots regarding Deion Branch.

O'Neil cautions that it's "premature to say a trade is on the table," and the Boston Herald suggested it was the Seahawks pushing the deal. Seattle has been reluctant to release Branch, perhaps believing all along that they could squeeze a draft pick out of the Pats. We remain skeptical that Branch would be an upgrade on any of the Pats' top three receivers.

rotoworld,
Realizing that the Pats were going to trade Randy Moss, Tom Brady has reportedly been in touch with Seahawks WR Deion Branch "frequently" over the past week.

This report coming one day after coach Bill Belichick made it clear that player's play; they don't make personnel decisions. While it's easy to picture Branch re-joining the Pats, it just doesn't make sense to give up a draft pick for his over $5 million salary. It's also questionable whether he would play more than a minor role.

IMO, the Patriots just screwed themselves out of possibly making it to the superbowl this year. Stupid decision to trade Moss

I disagee, if they would have let him walk as a FA at the end of the season they would have likely received a 3rd rd compensatory pick in 2012 for him. So they give him away 12 games and a playoff run earlier than they needed to to get a slightly higher 3rd rd pick in 2011 vs 2012 and give up a 7th rounder as well......sorry, they did not get enough for me to weaken my team that much this year.

Bad deal for the Pats.

Actually this is wrong. It was reported by ESPN that due to his years of service, he would fall under the rule that they would oNLY get a 5th round pick or less in compensatory.

I knew he wasn't worth a 3. He will aid Brady by being where he belongs on short and intermediate timing routes so that Brady can use hernadez and Tate to replace lost scoring production from the Moss trade. Welker can even be used differently if branch can handle some of that underneathe load. It will also help Welker physically make through the season without getting killed.
