rotoworld,

DeAngelo Williams (ankle surgery) returned to the Panthers practice for OTAs Tuesday morning.

Williams got his surgery out of the way in late winter, so he recovered on time. Jonathan Stewart (heel surgery) is not known to be practicing yet, but should be 100 percent before training camp. While the feeling in Carolina (and at Rotoworld) is that Stewart is the better player, Williams maintains top-ten fantasy back potential in an even timeshare with "The Daily Show."

rotoworld,

Although he still wants a long-term deal, DeAngelo Williams has no plans to make waves in Carolina this summer.

"My whole thing is I signed a five-year contract here and if the owner doesn't want to re-sign me or do a new deal, that's all him," Williams said, "I’m not going to get upset or anything like that because I knew when I signed my five-year deal that I was committed here for five years, so why put up a fuss?" Williams is set to make $2.1 million in the final year of his rookie deal.

Must be something in the air this week folks. More than one NFL player isn't acting like a spoiled brat including Andre Johnson. You gotta love it!

Williams is still a run-away train.... I don't worry about his production falling in 2010 even post-surgery.

(nfl.com)There is no word on when Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart will begin practicing with the team. Stewart, who regularly misses practices but has never missed a game, is recovering from surgery on his foot this offseason. He has yet to take part in OTA workouts.

(cbs.com)Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart, last year's leading rusher in Carolina, is the only player who did not practice on Friday. He continues to recover from foot surgery. He has yet to take part in OTA workouts.

rotoworld,
Jonathan Stewart (Achilles' surgery) has resumed running off to the side of Panthers offseason workouts.

Those covering the team continue to show little concern about Stewart's recovery, and most indications are that he should be better after the surgery. Consider Stewart a value if he's available in round three of fantasy drafts.

rotoworld,
NFL.com's Mike Lombardi reports that Jonathan Stewart (Achilles surgery) is back to 100 percent.

As the Panthers planned, Stewart sat out all of OTAs while nursing the heel injury he's played through for the past two years, not including his final season at Oregon. Still among the league's most dangerous backs, Stewart averaged 5.1 yards per carry in 2009 and has scored 21 all-purpose TDs since '08. It's scary to think how good he'll be with the foot problems behind him.

Stewart, who dealt with a heel injury for his first two NFL seasons, is now reportedly finally healthy following off-season surgery, NFL.com reports. It would have been nice to have more details about Stewart's injuries over the past two years. But, to hear that the heel injury is fixed and that he is 100% healthy has to perk up Stewart owners this season. We'll have to see if/when Stewart is fully turned loose in training camp, but if the reports of his health are accurate, the main impediment between him and carries this season won't be nagging injuries. Rather, it will be that he's slated to work work in a time-share with the talented DeAngelo Williams.

cbssports.com,
The Charlotte Observer reports that Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart, who had offseason surgery on his nagging Achilles' tendon, should be 100 percent for the start of training camp. Stewart had been limited during all of the offseason workouts, at most running on the side during the team's final offseason practice.

Analysis: Stewart should be 100 percent for the start of the season, and we expect him to have another outstanding campaign. He should be able to build off last season's success when he had 1,133 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. He will again share carries with DeAngelo Williams, which means Stewart has lower Fantasy value, but he's still worth drafting as a No. 2 option as early as Round 4 or 5 in all leagues. The key for Stewart is staying healthy, and hopefully he won't suffer a setback with his foot problems once the season starts.
