Dayne Crist to Texas?

Crist could come to Texas on a one year deal so long as he enrolls in a graduate program UT offers that Notre Dame does not.

He has interest in Wisconsin (and after seeing Russell Wilson take his one year of fame to a Big 10 title and BCS Bid why not), and rumors float about him and the Longhorns.

This does propose an intersting scenario for the Longhorns. Crist would need to grasp a complex offense during spring ball and need to be here ASAP. He does have the size and arm strength needed to run the Harsin offense, and with a stellar group of RBs, vastly improving offensive line, and voracious defense, he could take the Trent Dilfer/Baltimore Ravens route and quite possibly leave college as a 10 game winner next year.

We have super freshman Conner Brewer and RG3 like Jalen Overstreet coming in next year, and it would be nice to redshirt them and let them grow.

The problem of course is holding on to a backup QB, as McCoy and Ash would have to see Brewer and Overstreet pass them by the day their LOI's hit the fax machine.

Id noticed the injury bug, which would be a concern to us if Ash/McCoy both transfer, and that may be enough to keep this from happening. We run a great risk of not having a backup QB (without burning a redshirt) if Crist was to come here and then go down.

Honestly a change of scenery could be huge for the kid. He didn't really get a fair shake from Kelly b/c he was a Weis recruit and didn't have the speed necessary to run Kelly's version of the spread. I believe that had he been able to stay on the field he would (still might) have been the better NFL QB between himself Quinn and Clausen (hard not to be though )

Youre 100% right, the warm weather and friendly atmosphere just might, but the injury bug you speak of and the havoc his coming here would create is a massive risk.
