NYJ - Darrelle Revis sits out portion of morning practice - Mon Jun 14, 02:41 PM
New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis sat out a portion of morning practice Monday, June 14, as a way to show his displeasure about his current contract negotiations, reports the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta. Head coach Rex Ryan said he was told Revis was sitting out because he was light headed.

If Revis sat out to "prove his displeasure" about his contract, then this is getting ridiculous. We already know you want a new contract, the Jests know that, the world knows that. If you're coming to camp, play the part. There's no need to reiterate your concerns about a new contract.

rotoworld,
According to New York Daily News columnist Gary Myers, Darrelle Revis' actions on the minicamp practice field Monday "embarrassed" and "humiliated" Jets head coach Rex Ryan.

Ryan apparently bought Revis' "lightheadedness" excuse for sitting out practice snaps. "That would disappoint me, sure," Ryan said when informed there might be more to Revis' skipping of reps. "I believe in Darrelle, so when he tells me he's lightheaded or he's got a hamstring, I'll believe him. ... We have a football team. It's not about one individual. It's about the whole team."

rotoworld,
Darrelle Revis plans to meet with Rex Ryan after apparently "humiliating" the head coach with his excuses for missing practice snaps.

"This is the beginning of stuff turning bad," Revis said after a minicamp practice. "I'll talk to Rex today and we'll try to see eye to eye and try to do it the right way." Revis isn't backing down from complaints about his contract situation. Though he insists he was "lightheaded" on Monday, he admitted the hamstring injury had no truth to it.

He must have read your post this morning Runnik.

Such a childish move. If you want your money, hold out. Don't come to practice and do this crap. If you show up, work.

It's all about the pub. He went to one practice during an earlier OTA and then left for all the other days. He showed up for that one because the cameras for the HBO Hard Knocks Training camp show were there for a day as they are doing the Jets this year. He complained about his contact to Hard Knocks and when the cameras left the next day so did he. Now we have this little show cowinkadentally right when the Hard Knocks cameras returned to camp.

rotoworld,
Coach Rex Ryan confirmed that he met with Darrelle Revis on Tuesday night and characterized the meeting as a "great talk."

Ryan came away satisfied with Revis' explanation on why he sat out a few plays and then made up a hamstring tweak. "It's funny because, when it's a football thing, we definitely see eye to eye. He knows what I expect of him and vice versa," Ryan said. Revis appears confused on how to handle his contract dispute.

Bottom line he signed the contract and agreed to play for so many seasons for so much money. He should be held accountable to play that contract out. Anymore of his whiny baby crap, sit him on the bench and fine him for not fufilling his side of the contract. Nobody forced him to sign it. Another reason stipulations need to be put in these contracts. You dont play, we dont pay.

If DOT signed a contract to build a road and 1 yr into it found out 1 county over is building a similar road for more money since they signed a contract to do so. First DOT cant just stop building road and demand more money. Off the wall comparison i know but same aspect i think.

The New York Jets appear ready to make CB Darrelle Revis a contract offer worth more than $100 million, according to NFL.com. Newsday reports the team is willing to add six years to Revis' current deal, averaging around $12 million per season in addition to the $21 million he is already owed.

This will probably work out, a bunch of Bucks backloaded in the deal that he will never see and yet he can crow about being the highest paid CB for a while.

Yea and in two seasons he will be crying that he is not making enough and demanding a new contract, damn if that dont sound familiar

rotoworld,
According to the New York Post, Darrelle Revis "laughed off" Thursday's report that the Jets are prepared to offer him a long-term deal approaching $100 million.

Revis knows the Jets leaked the report, and he apparently noted that there was no mention of guaranteed money in the $100 million. The Jets denied leaking the information, though it's hard to believe it emanated from outside the organization. Newsday's Bob Glauber updated his report Friday, noting that the proposed deal would offer "substantial guaranteed money."

NYJ - Not close to deal with Darrelle Revis - Fri Jun 18, 12:24 PM
The New York Jets are not close to a contract extension with CB Darrelle Revis, reports Bart Hubbuch, of the New York Post.

rotoworld,
The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports that CB Derrelle Revis is "fully prepared" to hold out of training camp beyond the "30-day rule" of August 10.

If Revis' holdout lasts beyond August 10, he will cost himself an accrued year of free agency. "Simply put, Revis isn't bluffing," Mehta says. June and July are the time of the season for bluffing, so we wouldn't give Revis that benefit of the doubt. No matter which side caves, we expect the issue to be resolved before the start of the regular season.
