The Dallas Cowboys released disgruntled linebacker Greg Ellis on Tuesday. The move will reportedly save the team $4.15 million in 2009. Ellis had been unhappy about his contract and his role with the team as he was moved around when Dallas changed it's D scheme.

This has NE written ALL over it. They currently need an OLB and newly drafted OLB Tyrone Mckenzie from USF just had ACL surgery so he's already done for the season.

Enough with the rich keep getting richer. I only like veteran players wanting to go to a winning team when we are talking hockey and they are coming to the Red Wings.

We are at least 1 year away from that happening with my Lions.

stated it in the IDP thread, but rumors are flying he will talk to Cincy to be reunited with Zimmer the cincy DC! Who was his DC in Dallas during his best years. Plus he can come cheap...if he signs for less than 1.8 mil....Dallas carries the rest of the cost.

The Oakland Raiders have reportedly signed former Cowboys defender Greg Ellis. The team has not officially confirmed the deal, but ESPN, AOL, and the San Jose Mercury News are reporting the deal is done.

Apparently "chance at a championship" wasn't at the top of his wish list.

Hey, if Davis was the highest bidder, more power to Ellis. At least he's going to a team with a respectable defensive unit in a division that has vulnerable O-Lines.

this fills a need for the Raiders and is slowly starting to make this a pretty decent defense.

A nice pick up for the Raiders. It would be nice to see them finish out of the basement for once in a long time.
