I don't know if Ive ever seen a more brutal week for NFL injuries.

So many of these effect the players associated too. This one HAS to hurt the offensive weapons in Chicago

I'm trying to let this all calm down before I speak on it. Clearly he was really hurt badly. Nobody can fault you or question your toughness as a result of this or any of his previous injuries. This is NOT what I am doing, I'm not one of the meatheads that came out after the NFC Championship torn MCL (I was pissed til I found out what it actually was though) or the broken thumb or even this time questioning "toughness." What I question instead is durability. I've said it about DMac and others. Maybe he just wasnt meant to play the game to the level others are. None of the three major Cutler injuries looked bad in real time or slow mo. I still can't for the life of me figure out how this happened Sunday. It was a pretty routine play. Whereas the Bradford injury was pretty awful and gruesome looking... Cobb injury was plainly obvious, Murray is a guy that's always hurt too... etc, I just didn't see this one at all. It was just boom, routine tackle... he's not moving, what the... ok hes up... but... wow thats a hell of a limp... and then ahh he will be fine hes just pissed he got hit too much... to waking up and theyre like 4 weeks at least!! There goes this supposedly awesome season. Then again, I will say McCown looked like an actual quarterback. ANd I've obviously seen him play many times before. Never have I said that, or seen him play as well. So maybe Trestman is the whisperer. Let's hope, cuz Cutler just keeps going down. In a contract year too, that's what is making this especially hairy. Now it's like ok you kinda have to bring him back on the tag for the one year... but he clearly doesnt deserve top 5 money. Your defense is failing by the week, in case you havent noticed, and our cap space is fucked as it is anyway. Then you have to decide what to do in a year anyway, and he will be that much older... Just a shitty siutuation again. Not sure the original trade was as worth it as we all thought. Then again, maybe we never get to Trestman without Cutler, and we end up with the Freeman/Cassel/Ponder hound from hell. Where is Cerberus, anyway?? Ok that sure was rambly but, it had to happen. Sorry guys, maybe I clean it up in the morning if I'm less exhausted.
