Colts RB Donal Brown starts the off season as top back.

According to what I have been reading Colts RB Donald Brown is starting this off season at the top of the Depth Chart. This is not a big surprise at this point and RB Delone Carter is certainly in the mix at this point to keep Brown on his toes. RBs Darren Evans and rookie RB Vick Ballard could end up making some noise as the Colts Running game isn't very scary right now.

Indy lost some talent on O-line. Need to see how they address that, but I assume they will want to run alot, to protect Luck. So Brown could be a great sleeper to nab.

Brown could be rather cheap as well. I look forward to seeing him in action this year and hope he can stay healthy.

Brown couldn't start for any other NFL team.

He lost his greatest asset when the Colts lost their sterling passing game.

Now that he's on the field with a rookie QB and a dilapidated receiving corps he will learn that defensive linemen can do more than rush the passer.

Good point Tekie and one to mull over a bit. However equally true is that the Colts, minus their high grade offense will be rushing many more attempts which could off set the above negative thoughts. Oh hail, now I'm cornfused.

No doubt, but that rookie offers so much more than what they had at quarterback last year.

Good insight O.....the offense is actually in a better place than last year when they were not prepared for the loss of Manning. This year they have a lot of new faces, but they are offering more protection than they did last year when Brown showed some flashes. I think he starts to show why he was a first round pick for them a few years ago.

Such differing views we have here, Miller. I know you're high on the guy but I just can't see it.

Are you talking about grabbing him late as a bye week replacement or as a RB2/3?

He's a club footed, no hands, straight ahead runner that the 0-5 colts will become extremely bored with while Luck is reading his wrist band.

He'll get his 1st down carries but on second and 8 he will sit for a faster back that can catch a pass and pull the LBs off the TE so luck can find a short target.

Even if Brown has more talent than I give him credit, he's in a pitiful situation with a poorer offensive line in an offense that will pose no passing threat (c'mon...drop back passers don't take the NFL by storm their first year) and no dangerous WRs. (can you say Bradford?)

Plus....Colts are 2nd to only the Saints for teams I don't want ANY players from in a redraft league.

But....as always....I could be wrong.

lol, club footed.....that is an interesting way to critique a NFL RB....

Sleepers are that way for a reason, if everyone loved them that would be taken in the early rounds and not be sleepers. I'll galdly look at Brown in 7th rd as a 3/4 RB option on my team. I don't think that 1000 yds and 6-8 YD's is out of the question. In what was a mess of an offense in 2011, Brown made the most of the opportunities he did have averaging 4.8 ypc. Not bad for Mr. Club foot, lol.
