Colts Players To Miss Your Fantasy Playoffs !?!?!?

There is a lot of rumbling coming out of Colts camp right now. Many players are rumbling in public that they want to go for an Undeafeted season and play as much as possible. The Colts as you know are an early playoff clinch.

The coaches are leaning towards resting players and avoiding injuries. Making it sound like it could be preseason-like with the first string only playing portions of the game.

What does that mean for you if you are in the playoffs, nervous tension, anguish, nail biting and stomach problems.

The debate over rest and playing is raging in Colts camp right now. The problem is we may not get a firm answer on any of this for the entire Fantasy Playoff season.

If you think you are nervous about this, so is Vegas. That was a big clue for me that this could be a big problem. It's Wednesday and there is no Colts line yet. Vegas gets nervous, I start to get nervous. Don't totally panic yet, but if you use Colts players pay very close attention the next couple of weeks. One of the reason I am starting this thread is to do just that. If You hear something bring it.

Playing for history is important and the players will get their way, especially if Peyton is one of the players who wants to go for it. Stupid to rest healthy players anyway when you have a bye in the first week. Play them and keep them sharp. If a player has an injury and resting him would make sense in order to have him healthy for the playoffs, then sit that guy. If their healthy, their playing..............

My two cents.........

The rumblings are real. Colt's fans here in Indiana are remembering how well sitting players has worked for us in the past (which is to say, not well at all). Our superbowl win came when we had to play every week and didn't have a bye week. The fans are already pissed because we sit players and then lose in the first round of the playoffs. If they sit these players and screw up the perfect season, they had better win the superbowl or that city will need new coaches right away - not because Polian will get rid of him, but because the fans may run him out of town.
As far as playing colt's players, I'm looking at it a bit differently. I'm thinking Manning and the rest of the offense may light it up in the first half trying to get a big enough lead for the second string to hold on to. It's playoff time and it's a gamble. Hopefully your whole team doesn't rely on Indy's offense.

If I'm coaching them, I'd keep my line up in there. I don't want them sitting. Not to "run the score" or even to go "undefeated." Just to keep them sharp and in a football mindset going into the playoffs.

I read a quote from John Madden and it basically said the same thing as you, that he dont understand sitting the starters

Just my gut feeling. But after this week, the starters will only play a quarter or so. Then they go to back ups. 16-0 doesn't matter if you lose Manning or key O-line or Defenders.

So if you are counting on Manning, Wayne, Clark for the playoffs, you may be greatly disappointed.

And resting your players doesn't matter if you come out and lose your first playoff game. Been there, done that.
At any rate, it sounds like the starters are at least playing this week. I'd feel free to use them this week. I have Garcon and Manning and am starting both of them. So, if I give you bad advice, at least I'm feeling your pain.

I think they all play tonight and play as they normall would unless they get a 3 TD lead, if they do this, they will yank them early.
