"Close Calls 2010" - A Sports Outlaw Exclusive
Remember, this is based on re-draft leagues and non ppr scoring.

Today's Match-up:
Jamaal Charles vs Cedric Benson

Last Year's Stats:
Jamaal Charles - 15 gms - 1,120 ru yds - 7 ru TD's - 40 rec - 297 rec yds - 1 rec TD
Cedric Benson - 13 gms - 1,251 ru yds - 6 ru TD's - 17 rec - 111 yds - 0 rec TD's

Today's match-up is between two RB's who were fantasy surprises last season. Much more will be expected this season out of both of them. Can Benson put back to back years together after being considered a bust for the first part of his career. Can Charles hold off vetern Thomas Jones and pick up where he left off season? So which one is worth the pick? That is the question in today's close call!

:wow: This sucks. This sucks cause I hate on both this year.

Here is why - KC got Thomas Jones for a reason. The reason being they want to use him to bludgeon defenses, thus protecting Qb due to poor O-line. I am not a Cassell fan....and not sure KC is either. So they will want to run. That being said, I do see the ball going to Charles alot, as they will use him IMO like White and CJ in Tenn. during his rookie year. He will also be passed to alot since they will be behind alot...and Cassell has a noodle arm.

Benson should probably be the clear choice right? Nope. I see Benson having more injury issues this year than last. He missed 3 games last year. I see more this year. Its his style of running, and lack of fortitude coming back. I also think that Cincy is commited to pass more. I also think they will involve scat back Bernard Scott.

Thus if this were PPR scoring, I would go Charles.
In straight scoring...I think I have to go benson as he will get Tds, while Charles will be watching TJ get Tds.

Physically there's never been a farther off close call. Talk about polar opposites! As mentioned above, if this were ppr it would be Charles, but since it's not, it's easily Benson.

Yeah scoring system would play a big part in who many would go with. benson is definitely not a receiver.
