rotoworld,
Browns RB James Davis has resumed practicing at OTAs after missing his entire rookie year with a shoulder injury.

A sleeper while running with the first team during the 2009 preseason, Davis has shot down the depth chart following the late-year emergence of Jerome Harrison and April's selection of Montario Hardesty. We like Davis' game, but he's got a major uphill climb on the road to fantasy relevance.

If not in Cleveland then with another team, unless his injury becomes chronic problem, then
i believe he can still become a #1 RB

If you have James Davis on your roster in a dynasty league as i do, better hang on to him.

Coach Eric Mangini heaped more praise on Montario Hardesty, as the rookie handled the bulk of the first-team reps Thursday.

"He has had a really outstanding camp," Mangini said. "For a young guy, he makes very few mistakes. His level of maturity is one of the highest that I've been around ... And that's going to give him the best chance to not only play, but to play a lot if he continues." We're not trying to over-emphasize the depth-chart switch because this was Jerome Harrison's first offseason practice open to the media. Still, it's obvious that Mangini envisions a significant role for Hardesty.

Unsigned restricted free agent RB Jerome Harrison will attend the Browns' mandatory minicamp that begins on Thursday, a source tells the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

Harrison signed an injury waiver so he could participate in OTAs over the last couple of weeks, but he was absent at the beginning of this week for personal reasons. He needs to be in practice to keep up with rookie Montario Hardesty in their battle for carries.

Jerome Harrison and rookie Montario Hardesty split first-team work during the Browns' mandatory minicamp on Thursday and Friday.

Hardesty has drawn tons of praise from the Browns' brass already, while Harrison still hasn't signed his RFA tender. It's one of the premier position battles we'll be watching once training camp gets here. Still, with both backs possessing different skills, there's a good chance this committee will end up as a pretty even split.

Coach Eric Mangini once again praised rookie Montario Hardesty for his quick learning and uncanny acumen.

In one of Mangini's typical post-practice mind games, he asked Hardesty to rattle off the names of the defenders he was practicing against. "He blew through it like he's known them all their lives," Mangini said. Hardesty continues to split first-team reps with Jerome Harrison. His quick learning and solid all-around skills will earn him a significant role from the get-go.

A league source tells the Cleveland Plain Dealer that Jerome Harrison, Matt Roth, Abe Elam, and Lawrence Vickers all signed their one-year restricted free agent tenders on Monday.

Elam and Roth have skipped almost all of the offseason, so they're caving just before the deadline for restricted free agents to have their tenders reduced. Vickers and Harrison have been practicing with injury waivers. We'll wait for confirmation from the team before considering this report official.

Harrison has signed his $1.759 million contract tender with the Browns, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Harrison, who finished strong last season -- 561 rushing yards over the last three weeks.

rotoworld,

Despite Harrison's red-hot finish to last season, the Browns made upgrading their rushing attack an offseason priority, trading up for Montario Hardesty on the second day of the draft. Harrison will remain involved in a committee, but won't be a feature back. He's a candidate to be overvalued in fantasy.

Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer predicts that rookie Montario Hardesty will be the Browns' Week 1 starting tailback.
