I don't disagree, Mud, but I think it should be Spiller thanking God that he is gone.
There was always something weird about the New Orleans/Spiller connection.
There is a home for him out there somewhere...Maybe San Fran, Maybe Green Bay, Maybe Indy....Somebody out there needs a 3rd down back with Spiller's pedigree.
No doubt though that he'll get ONE more chance somewhere but when he fails there he'll be history. A bad draft choice by a whole lot of owners that will thankfully be a forgotten memory down the road.
I dare say that at 1 time or another 70% of us owners made a similar decision. I know I did. Some hit him when he was dynamite. I grabbed him when he was supposedly still a dam good player or so the Pundits said but he was "miss used." After watching his fading career wash out for fantasy owners I had renewed hope that he's fill the Sproles roll in the Big Easy but alas, it never happened. The Saints give everyone a chance. They gave this kid one too. Fact is he cost too much money for the piddling production that came with him.
You do realize, with this cut New Orleans is sitting on $40 million in dead money against this years cap, how do you compete with that much dead money?
