I want to hear this one play out before rendering judgement. My hopes are that this is a single(?) athlete getting squeezed after a consensual encounter.

True, or at lest he was in his prime.

Then again, the notion that his "shots" on people were legit....I don't buy it, he was as dirty a player as there ever was.

Moral judgements? From a Ravens fan? :rolllaugh:

shit, anyone read the complaint? If you have not, read #50-#83......what she is accusing him of is not really just sexual assult....it's rape....

VERY serious accusations.....however, at this point they are just that and nothing to back it up but one woman's word who is now seeking monatary compensation and not criminal charges.....I really hope it's not true, and if it is, there should have been criminal charges filed, not just civil......

Will see how this plays out.....but yeah, this could be a pretty big distraction for the defending champs.

I do not agree at all. Hines is one tough SOB, who does what he does knowing he is gonna be wide open on the next play from scrimmage. He plays the game HARD, and right!

Sexual Assault: Sexual assault is any form of unwanted or forced sexual conduct, ranging from touching, fondling, and/or kissing to sexual intercourse.

Rape: Rape is
sexual intercourse (penetration, usually) without consent, or on a person who is too young or otherwise incapable of giving informed consent.

Rape is a severe case of Sexual assault as I read the above definitions. It is a form a sexual assault. Maybe it is easier to prove if you accuse them of just sexual assault instead of being specific and calling the sexual assault rape......but in reading the accusation, she is accusing him of Rape.

I think the trend, in many states at least, is moving away from the "rape" to varying degrees of "sexual assault". Not sure if Nevada distinguishes between the 2.

What is the difference?

One is performed on the Browns and one on the Bengals, both by Pittsburgh..

Second time in what.. 2 months? First episode was the drunken party pic with the skankedy-skank.
Won't ever defend anyone on any my teams for being an idiot and consistently being in a bad situation. Eventually you need to grow up and take a look at yourself. You woulda thought maybe the motorcycle buffoonery might've been a wakeup call.

It's possible I guess, but there's a very fine line between coincidence and trend, and I'm mildly concerned this is leaning towards the latter.

remember this incidence happened a year ago.

So if the publicity of the other incident did not play a roll with this complaint there should really should have been something in the works for the lawsuit prior to that time (contact with attorneys, pre-filing discovery... something to show this was not a spur of the moment idea to take advantage of the current public perception).

Would be interesting to know if that comes up as this progresses.

If the claim is untrue (and I am not saying it is) there is something other than coincidence or a trend to consider.
