The Bearcats came up with a huge win Thursday night, but at what cost? Starting QB Tony Pike has suffered an injury to his left forearm, the same injury that cost him his season last year. He has been playing with a plate and six screws in his arm, and that plate has apparently shifted. He will be out next week for sure and possibly much longer. It is unknown if surgery is required at this point. This is an unfortunate turn of events for what was one of the nice stories in this CFB season. Pike was having a great season and was even in Heisman conversations.

Coach Brian Kelly said Pike, who broke his left forearm last season and played with a plate and six screws that are still in place, will miss Cincinnati's next game, at home Oct. 24 against Louisville.

"The plate that's in there has shifted," Kelly said, adding that it has not been determined if the injury will require surgery. Pike will be examined by a specialist on Friday.

You know what's strange? If Tony Pike stayed in the game, I think the Bulls win. I called this game as a color analyst last night at Raymond James on Bulls Radio. The Bulls defense, aside from 1 drive in which they shot themselves in the foot with a personal foul call, kept Tony Pike under control, better than any team all year long.

When the back up QB, Zach Collaros stepped in, he does not play the same style of football that Pike does. South Florida spent the last 2 weeks focusing on how to stop Tony Pike. When Zach came in, a running QB, the Bulls were simply not prepared for that.

Great win for Cincinnati.
