  • -- Chris Johnson Seeking TD Celebration Ideas --
    Tue Jun 23, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
  • AP reports Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson is using his Twitter account seeking touchdown celebration suggestions because the Tennessee running back wants to top the antics of WR Terrell Owens and WR Chad Ochocinco. "I'm trying,” Johnson said Tuesday. “I need help. I'm pretty sure they have somebody to help them, so I'm thinking hard now.” Johnson isn't new to TD celebrations. He drew a $10,000 fine from the NFL last October for celebrating a 66-yard TD run in Kansas City by banging on drums in the end zone—and wasn't happy being fined for trying to have fun. He tweeted last Friday asking for help and also alerted his followers to “pay close attention to what i have in store.” Johnson is the running back who was the only rookie voted to the Pro Bowl in 2008, and he wasn't happy at finishing a distant second to Atlanta QB Matt Ryan for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. He and teammate RB LenDale White called themselves Smash and Dash last season, but Johnson also has tweeted that he wants to be called Every Coaches' Dream. Johnson complimented the variety of celebrations by Ochocinco, the Cincinnati receiver once known as WR Chad Johnson. “I just got to come up with something that can beat the drums,” Chris Johnson said. Johnson has gotten about 20 replies to his request, but none of the suggestions are something he plans to try. With Nashville being nicknamed Music City for its country music industry, he thinks someone should be able to come up with something different.

Titans | C. Johnson changes nickname Wed Jun 24, 10:22 AM
Jim Wyatt, of The Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson said he wants to no longer be considered as 'Dash' in the tandem of 'Smash and Dash' along with RB LenDale White. Instead, Johnson wants to be known as 'Every Coach's Dream.' Johnson added, 'Smash and Dash have had a divorce - that's official. I have to be my own guy, so no more Smash and Dash, that was last year. Every Coach's Dream, that's me. Because they say every team has its own identity. I feel for me, I can't be noticed as a group any more. I am my own guy.'

This looks like a possible disaster in the making.

I just lost a lot of respect for this kid.

Better keep that ego in check son. Next thing you know you'll be talking Ravens smack and Ray Lewis will be setting you down for the year.

This attitude is alaming and also normally very destructive in athletes. Do you mean to say that this doesn't btoher you just a little??

Making a joke about my own ego mostly. I'm a huge CJ fan. Love the kid's talent. I don't care about him showboating one bit. What did bother me was his coment about being his own person. All that does is show me that he's not a team player.

By people that know me, I've been told that my ego is extremely big. So my reference to people with our name having an ego was a joke about my own mostly.

I will not draft him in the first round this year, and will hope he is on someone elses squad, so I don't have to consider him in the 2nd. I now want Slaton over him and feel that White might have a better year than expected. Johnson sounds like he has become too big for his own britches.

That happened really really fast!

Frankly, he wasn't even in the top 3 rookies last year. Ryan, Forte, Slaton, and maybe even Flacco from a football perspective outperformed him.

Coming at you
The kid has talent, but is being drafted too high IMO for his situation. The fat kid will get his share of carries and most of the close in TDs. Johnson went #2 in an early PPR draft and I was blown away. Way too high................

Eh, I don't know if I agree with that statement. I can safely say Ryan but Slaton and Chris Johnson bring up a tie, IMO, for 2nd best rookie last year.

You brought up football perspective and that's where Chris shinned, IMO. 1228 yards and 9 TDs. He had a 4.9 yard average on the ground, Forte had 3.9. Slaton had a 4.8 yard average, 1282 yards and 9 TDs on the ground. Through the air he caught 50 balls. Also, Forte had 1 less TD on the ground. The only real stat Forte had better than CJ was through the air, where he snagged 20 more balls. Also keep in mind, CJ was sharing carries. Forte was the work horse in Chicago. CJ did more with less, IMO.

If I had to rank them, from a football perspective, using last year's stats, it would go Chris Johnson, Steve Slaton then Matt Forte.

Coach Fisher

-- Jeff Fisher Suggests New Nicknames for Chris Johnson & LenDale White --
Thu Jun 25, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
The Nashville Tennessean reports that one day after Titans RB Chris Johnson killed the "Smash and Dash" nickname that he shared with fellow RB LenDale White, and branched out on his own with "Every Coach's Dream," Titans HC Jeff Fisher got some good-natured digs at Johnson for his ankle injury in last season's playoff loss to the Ravens, and for his drum-banging touchdown celebration that resulted in a penalty flag and a fine. "Every Coach's Dream?" Fisher said with a smile Wednesday. "Maybe with a few exceptions — playing the bongos … and getting hurt in the playoff game." Johnson and White created the "Smash and Dash" moniker last season as they combined for 2,001 yards and 24 rushing touchdowns. "I'm sure they'll come up with something else," Fisher said. "Dumb and Dumber or something."

LenDale White to Maintain Diet --
Tue Jun 30, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
The Nashville Tennessean reports Titans RB LenDale White said he will stick with his strict diet during his time off before training camp. "I am not going to let it all go to waste, not the way I feel. My body feels good — my knees, my ankles, everything feels great out there. And I am trying to keep it that same exact way. So whatever I have to do, I am going to maintain. And when I check into camp (my weight) won't be nothing over 230," said White.

Last year White spent his time between OTAs and camp nestled at home with his Twinkies and Ho Hos, this year:

White will spend the next five weeks working out in Denver with his uncle Herman White and his cousin, Denver Nuggets star Chauncey Billups.

This thread just makes me want to vomit.

Johnson was my golden pick last year in the 4th round. In my keeper league, that meant I had 3 years to keep him at less than a number 1.

Now a just want to unload the mouthy, self-centered prima donna.

It's a prejudice that will keep me from winning championships, I know. :coocoo:

I must be the only one who doesn't really care how these guys act. Seriously, NFL players are the pinnacle of human evolution, the elite of the elite. You honestly expect all of them to remain humble? This isn't Pop Warner, guys, this is the real deal and they can act however they want to. They've earned it.
