Childress fired

Vikings fired head coach Brad Childress.
Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier has been named interim coach. The writing has been on the wall for weeks, and Sunday's 31-3 loss that included plenty of in-fighting was the final nail in Childress' coffin. He never saw eye-to-eye with Brett Favre, and lost the respect of the locker room. The 3-7 Vikings could no longer reasonably keep Childress on board. Chilly's five-year run in Minnesota ends with a 39-35 regular season record and two playoff appearances. The Vikings don't figure to be any worse off with Frazier, who's been a hot head-coaching candidate for multiple offseasons. Childress' lack of communication skills and willingness to publicly throw players under the bus don't bode well for his chances of resurfacing. And unlike Brian Billick, the surly Childress isn't going to appeal to T.V. networks as an analyst. ESPN's Ed Werder predicts that Childress' firing will convince Favre to finish out the season.

Hmm....So...who become coach next year?

No real surprise. Chilly has been in the doghouse much of the season.
Frankly, I think the worst decision the team made was to let Chester Taylor leave. He was a great "back-up" for AP.

I think they're are countless bad decisions they made. For instance, giving up what they did for Randy Moss and then waiving him (Brad Clueless)...cutting AP out of the game plan when he should be the center of the game plan...letting Favre pull the crap that he pulled before the season started...and yes, letting go of Chester Taylor. Good bye Childress!!!

Yeah this guy sucked.

Somehow I see Childress reappearing on the Minnesota Sex Offender Registry at some point. The guy is just creepy.

Childress would make a half decent college coach, somewhere in the Sun Belt or MAC with a team who would buy into his bullshit. That and about the time the kids are ready to kill him, they graduate.

The guy has no place in the NFL>

Id have to say that Favre is a huge factor, 22 turn over's (17 INT's 5 lost fumbles)

Favre will always be known as one of the great one's, to bad he is going out this way.

Agreed, but even new coach says Favre is starting. What is it about Jackson do we not know? He wasn't too bad, on the field, the last few opportunities he played. hmmm

Have you seen his turnovers? I'll give him solid credit for half of them, and very little credit for most of the rest of them. (the fumbles are his regardless of the rush)
