  • Pioneer Press' Tom Powers reports that something is wrong between RB Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings. Maybe it's a contract issue or the preferential treatment given to QB Brett Favre, or perhaps Peterson is miffed at HC Brad Childress for throwing him under the bus for dropping the football. But something clearly is sour in this relationship.

I thought the Coach showed poor judgement when he publically called out AP and then mentioned the Rookie practiced. It seems he has been kissing Brett's ass, and i love Brett, while alienating Peterson to an extent. This whole AP day in Texas could have been handled better by Childress.
 
(TheHuddle) Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson said he does not regret skipping the team's minicamp in order to be present during "Adrian Peterson Day" in his hometown, reports Matt Baker, of the Tulsa World. Head coach Brad Childress was critical of Peterson for missing the minicamp, but Peterson said he has talked with team officials and it is no longer an issue.
Analysis: Childress has only himself to blame for setting the "star treatment" precedent with Brett Favre, though Peterson could have made this a non-issue by informing the Vikings prior to his absence rather than letting them read about it in the paper.
