Randy McMichael signed a one-year contract with the Chargers, reports Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times. While Randy is no threat to a healthy Gates he is a decent Pass Catching type of TE. So if Gates misses time this year at least TE remains a weapon in the Chargers arsenal, not a major weapon, but much more effective than the previous dropoff if Gates is out. Also, if they have WRs injuries they could consider two TE formations. A nice depth move here for the Chargers.
