Chagers WR VJax to give hometown discount?

San Diego Chargers impending free-agent WR Vincent Jackson may be willing to accept less money from the Chargers this offseason but would want at least a three-year deal to stay. No numbers have been discussed in a recent meeting but rumors say the Chargers are hoping for a 5 year deal around $ 10 million a year.

that was my thought.....hometown discount??? Didn't this cat just sit out nearly a whole season because they couldn't come to terms on a deal???

I don't see him staying. He's been waiting to test the market and get his $$$, this is his shot, I don't see him not taking it.

A little onesided there Miller. I believe the Chargers locked him into a minimum salary for 1 year because VJ wouldn't sign some kind of RFA deal. Not exactly fair and honest bargaining. How would you treat a boss that forced you to work for min salary, but expected top performance

They didn't drop him to minimum salary until he did not report. They tagged him, he refused to sign, then as per the old agreement, they dropped the price tag to minimum as was their ability.

I agree with Miller, no way he offers a discount. Its big money or he walks.
