Cedric Benson signs 2 year deal with Bengals

For this year unless the Bengals go after more free agents or find a magnificent gem in the draft Benson figures to be a very viable runningback for owners and will be had on the cheap relative to the number of carries he should get with the Bengals. Carson Palmer's healthy return will only help his production.

for Benson to repeat...they have to fix the O-line.

that being said this being only a two year deal I fully expect cincy to go draft a rb early. Probably round three or so. Although I have seen some mocks where McCoy has dropped. So 2nd round is a maybe.

I like this deal a lot. Not a ton of coin and not a real long deal. This will keep Benson hungry and eager to perform at a high level to land one more contract when this one is up. Benson did very well behind a beat up offensive line down the stretch, with a couple additions and a healthy Palmer I expect the Bengals running game to rebound this season.

I do agree that they will likely look for a RB in rd 3 or 4. A guy I am keeping my eye on is Jeremiah Johnson out of Oregon, he's be a nice compliment to Benson.
