Cedric Benson/Raiders- A perfect fiT?

ESPN is reporting that the Raiders have a strong interest in signing the FA RB. This would make a lot of sense to me. First you can't count on DMac to stay healthy but Benson has been able to pack the load by himself with few problems. The current backups in Oakland aren't ground and pound RB's but rather more open space runners. Right now the Raiders don't have an up the middle for one or two yard ball carrier. Benson would fit that bill perfectly. If Benson plays this year can the Outlaws think of any better fit for his talents? Not me, welcome to the left coast Cedric, if it happens...

I suppose it's a good fit but his production will be insignificant. not worth a spot really on anyone's fantasy team come draft day.

Uh, please explain the value to the DMac owner? He won't be the back up...at best he will be #3. Just curious here.

I disagree, only reason they sign him is to be the b/u and change of pace to DMac. Benson is a grinder and can still do that. So yeah, he would have value to the DMac owner.

That's fine, as we disagree a lot, and you like being wrong:wink:

If they sign Benson, it will be as a Bush replacement, but I think they have that in Reece. However, Benson is not Bush, and does not have the ability to replace DMac and all he is capable of. Goodson can, for a short time. DMac is best outside flashing or as a receiver, but Benson isn't. I also feel Benson is sliding fast in ability and talent, and is a waste to sign.
