Was this the right decision? Cassel was chosen over such QB's as Schaub, Big Ben, Flacco, and Orton. I think any of the above would have been better picks and certainly Roethlisberger should have received the nod over Cassel. Any opinions out there in Outlaw Country?

I think Big Ben ran into trouble due to only 12 games played; behind in TDs 27 to 19
Cassel had more TDs & Fewer picks then the other 2 guys you mentioned.

Given those 4; I would chose Big Ben cause I think he's the man. But I can easily see how Cassel was picked given his solid numbers.

Out of those 4, Big Ben was the most consistant. But like VM said, those games he missed probably played a part in it. Schaub, Orton and Flacco were inconsistant this season.

Couple of things, Big Ben is not available, as he is still playing. So he was out of the running. Remember the pro-bowl is between the conf. finals and Superbowl.

As for Flacco and company, believe it or not, Cassell was the top Qb in rankings for the 2nd half of the year. Granted he sucked in the playoffs.
