Chiefs head coach Todd Haley says QB Matt Cassel has grabbed the leadership reins of the team, an exciting development considering the receiving talent around him. Cassel had a tough task moving from New England to Kansas City and trying to earn the respect of his teammates after one good year with the Patriots, but he's done it and is now trying to do more. "He's in here leading the pack every day," Haley told Sirius NFL Radio. "I mean, we can't keep him off the field. He's gathering the receivers any chance he can get. Jerheme Urban, who we brought in from Arizona was like, 'Wow, this is awesome. This guy can't get enough.' This kid's going to be ... he's going to do a good job. He has all the makings of being a solid, solid quarterback in this league."
Analysis: Cassel is on our short QB sleeper list for Fantasy this season. Not only will he again work with Dwayne Bowe and Chris Chambers, but the Chiefs added a matchup nightmare in short speedy receiver Dexter McCluster for Cassel to target. Between these three guys and a strong rushing duo with good receiving abilities in Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones, Cassel won't run out of players to throw at. Oh, and did we mention that offensive guru Charlie Weis has joined the Chiefs staff? Bottom line: Cassel has a shot at 4,000 yards and 20 touchdowns this season.
